These rings are hand forged from a single piece of copper using traditional blacksmithing techniques of fire, hammer and anvil. Surface texture is achieved through hand hammering the copper while hot. This ring is seamless.. there is no solder joint. The ring is made by punching a hole through a solid piece of copper and formed by hammering it on a mandrel.
REGARDING COPPER SKIN REACTION, PLEASE READ: Copper can react with a person's skin to produce green discoloration on the finger underneath the ring. How much depends on an individual's skin chemistry. Copper will darken over time. The photos show a bright copper, over time this will darken. I add a transparent coating of a product called Everbrite Protectaclear to help with these two issues, but it's not foolproof and eventually wears off. How quickly depends on a lot of things, skin chemistry etc. The coating can be purchased from Amazon to reapply, a 4oz bottle will last forever.
The inside and edges have been sanded to ensure a comfortable fit. The outside has been very lightly sanded to highlight the edges of the hammer marks while preserving the natural oxidation. A coating of Everbrite ProtectaClear has been applied.
